About Cirkus Sibylla started 1998 and is based in the national park area Hardangervidda in Telemark Norway. The group has produced more than 20 performances, mainly for children and youth and has toured from the northern parts of Norway and Russia to New Zealand. Many of the performances are produced with a minimal amount of equipment so that they fit most stages. The performances are known to have good interaction between the audience and the performers. Ivanir Hasson Olsen Jewish/Norwegian is artistic director in the group, with background from the Danish political street theatre arena in Christiania Copenhagen and new circus in Europe. In collaboration with her husband Carl Andreas Olsen from New Zealand and other performing artists from throughout the world they have developed everything from small poetic clown performances to big intercultural projects, the last ten years with national minorities as main theme. Our artistic aim is to contribute the development of cultural variety in the North, tocreate collective solidarity across borders and to create reflection of the attitudes and values of our time. |
